RE: Blank guns
When shooting indoors in a scene where a gun is fired you could just brigten the frames that have the muzzle flash and gun sound effect so that it seems more realistic. Casing ejection is really tricky and requires a lot of work with a 3D animation program. You have to create a 3D scene with bullets...

QUOTE from http://www.communitytheater.org/articles/GunsOnStage.htm ===== Actor Michael Massee, who played Funboy, fired a revolver loaded with blanks at Lee. To complete the illusion, a small explosive charge was to go off in the grocery bag. Unfortunately, a fragment of a dummy bullet, used earlie...

RE: Blank guns
Blank guns are expensive...why don't you try using BB guns and adding muzzle flash and gunsshot sounds from your video editing application? It's just as good and you won't wake up the entire city population everytime you want someone to shoot a gun in your movie. You could find a real-looking BB gun f...

I didn't read all the posts so I don't know if someone was suggested sth similar to this: How about the killer suddenly jumping on the victim from above (e.g. from a wall,a wooden box etc) and slashing his throat causing blood to spatter? At the moment he slashes the victim's throat you can do a clo...

HELP! Camcorder Mechanical Noise!!!
A few weeks ago I purchased a Canon MV800 camcorder because my old one got wet and was destroyed...The microphone in the MV800 records a LOT of mechanical noise from the camera. It's really annoying,it sounds like a CPU Fan is stuck next to the speaker when you watch the recorded footage!!! Oh,and th...
A mac mini would be more stable than a pc but it has a small hard drive and it's expensive compared to a pc that does the same things. If you want to be serious about editing it's good that you have 512MB of ram or more. You must also know that the 1.42 GHz CPU of the mac mini is a lot faster than a...

Yeah I will have to agree with DaveP's sarcastic comment. 50 or 70 (!)% is a lot. Sound is very important in a movie. But actors and directors are the ones with the most important job, which has also the biggest impact on the final project's quality. Congratulations to J.Groshko for his selection of...

European E-shops with film making equipment???
Hi guys, do you know where I can find film making equipment (portable green screen, continous lights etc) in an e-shop that ships to European countries? I found some stuff in ebay.com but they only ship in the US and ebay.co.uk dosen't have any film making equipment. So I was wondering if you knew a...

I agree. If it was a public place like a park etc. you could put some work in progress tape (like the do not cross police in red with white stripes) but a street with traffic is a totally different thing. You can find a way to make your camera operator visible from a big distance, for example by wea...

Thanks. I asked cause I remembered there was a Vegas fan in the forum. Vegas is a really good and stable video editing suite. I am making parts of my current production in it but I'm doing the compositing in Pinnacle Studio (you work VERY fast there but it's extremely unstable). I like Vegas very mu...

Pinnacle crashes a lot but when it does, you open the program again and the project is on your screen again, as if the program had never crashed. But do save a lot. It helps anyway. Studio looks basic but is a VERY good video editing suite. Of course Premiere FinalCut Pro (Mac) and professional prog...

Hi there guys. Haven't heard from me scince Spetember 10 or sth., right? My suggestion is first use a lot of papers and a whiteboard. Note some of your ideas and then divide the film into scenes. As you think of new details you can fill them in after having organised your thoughts on the whiteboard....

I have both Pinnacle Studio and Adobe Premiere and I can tell you Pinnacle rules!!!!!!!!!!! Adobe is pro but I think it has the worse interface (after MediaStudio Pro) and is not good for title creation. You can do magic thngs with Pinnacle Studio IF you put your imagination work. Plus, everything l...
