RE: Techniques? Tips? Things to do?

Don't over or under project emotion. People either seem to be too timid or overact when they're supposed to be angry or happy. The thing to remember is, you're a human being, you know what its like to be angry. So look at yourself from that view first to make sure you are acting in a realistic way. ...

RE: acting methods

Maj Barnes, that made my day. lol. You can still be a completely different character in completely different roles, its just that no one can truly become something else. You just have to be a realist. Acting with research is probably one of the better ways to go about it. There is nothing wrong with...

Slow. Slow. Slow. Pacing for a sad scene is important, and should be gentle with not too many quick cuts. But this, you just lose your attention with just waiting to see where this single slow panning shot is going to take you. And you forget what was going on just before it.

RE: acting methods

I believe real acting is often about modifying yourself and building off of your own traits, even just as a human being. We all get the same start, and when it comes down to it, act very similar in the same situation. But you have attach chunks of the character to yourself and build someone who may ...

I don't necessarily want to be a director for any movie. Each specific story, I might feel I would be better for the production by being dedicated to a different job. Cinematographer or purely a writer. For some of my scripts, I would just need to be the Director and Cinematographer, but occasionall...

RE: EXPERIMENTAL Script Idea for School....

Warped faces and masks that exaggerate peoples intentions or natural appearance would be an idea. Someone trying to smile and say "Its not so bad" looks to him like some twisted clown type face with a horrifically unproportional and sinister looking smile curling up the sides of their face...

Matthew is spelled with one T the first time, and 2 the second lol. And also, I don't believe you need to put up general historical information like that. Put up something that is a lead on to your specific story.

In all honesty there isn't much to these characters. Theres no reason to sympathize with any of them. Kai, I would suppose, is the rational figure, but all in all hes a pretty standard backup friend. The "Don't do it dude" guy. We have no explanation of Pete, Ray, or Johnny's actions. Our ...

Often times characters can be symbols for individual emotions. If a character is having an internal conflict, the symbols used to externally show his feelings might be his father expressing anger, his mother expressing worry or guilt. Each is a external representation of a specific emotion he is fee...

RE: Music Video Script

I just finished a music video for my high school senior project. It was for the Beatles song "Eleanor Rigby". If the song already has a general story to it, I would suggest focusing on storyboarding to the lyrics themselves. Pair the images you have in mind with the specific lines and stan...

Some of the things the main character does just kind of makes him annoying. You don't really sympathize with him, because you think he's kind of a twit. Parts are funny though. I say you should develop the girl scene further, not necessarily make it into a romantic pursuit, but just develop that sce...

Don't forget auditory hallucinations. You can have him hear someone laughing when hes alone in a room. These seem like hallucinatio...

.....how does anyone not know what flour is? anyways. Yeah, pretty much any light, white, powdered substances should do the trick. Powdered sugar is probably a good bet. I think you should do something like that. In the same way a commercial script would be. All build up, then a good punchline at the end. A joke, acted out.

Damn you, making me jealous with that beautiful camera. lol. Looks very good though. That tripod is very nice as well. Now I'm extremely curious as to what this film is about. Is this the 80's Cop Action/Comedy?
