I (the friend with the camera) cant stand static shots its got to be action all the time. for boring dialoge scenes I like to spice it up with some circling shots and such. basically all anlges that are exciting and new.

Or you could just wrap newspaper in duct tape make it in to the shape of a leg maybe add a blood pack to the area it will be slashed take a old pair of pants which match the color and style worn by your actor and get a close up and hack away. I"m trying to creat the effect of someone frozen, sort of a bluish tint to the skin and some ice on the lips,nose and such

There is just to much controversy between digital and real if your good at real go real if your good at digital then go digital I personally like to mix digital and real to get the best effect possible

yeah you dont want to release the flow of flamable liquid to fast other wise the liquid could catch flame and go back into the gun (I'd guess that is what hapened to your freind and your 30 dollar gun)

I'd find the location first cuz it's easier to picture it when you are writing resulting in a better story
