Oh yeah, the movie is going to look very good :) Sorry I don't have any plans (since I didn't use any) but it's just built like any other jib basically - so it should be pretty simply to figure out. The way the jib was before I modified it it was able to come apart - but now that I've added the cont...

Test footage from my new and improved homemade camera crane!

I've made quite a few modifications to it since I last used it and it seems to work pretty damn good. Anyways, tell me what you guys think of the vid.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm from Canada by the way - and I've been doing some searching around and found these guys http://hostpapa.ca/ . What do you guys think of them? Apparently they're the highest rated Canadian web-space provider. But I don't want to do anything till I get some outside opin...

Web-hosting? Who's the best? Where do I find out?

Just got Macromedia Studio 8, and I'm thinking of starting my own website. Anybody have any suggestions who I should go to for web-hosting? Or if there's a review site of the top web-space providers - or anything that can help me sort out the million providers out there? I need a service that provid...

RE: Removing voice from music?

You can do it in Adobe Audition, it's real simply too - just "one click" sort of thing. I've removed singing from music before using it and the result weren't all that bad. I don't know of anyway to do it in Premiere (or any other edit program for that matter).

I know the intro to mine is kind of lame - but it gets the job done.

Hey mercenary123, I was in your shoes no less than a week ago looking for a new camera and I've done plenty of research so hopefully I'll be able to help you out - I was looking at $1500 and under. I wouldn't bother getting ANY sort of HD (or) HDV camera at this point since it is not "True"...

What should I get: Canon XL1 or GL2 ?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a new camera some day soon here, and I'm debating weather or not I should buy an older XL1 or a newer GL2. Right now I'm leaning towards the XL1 because it has a larger 1/3" chip and a FAR better lens - but it is older technology compared to the 1/4" GL2. ...

In response to Freddie, Yeah, I did build my own dolly because the one our school had was being used on a "senior" shoot - but it wasn't as complicated to build as one might expect. I already had a heavy tripod with wheels on it, so all I had to build was the track for it out of some scrap...

RE: Your film experiences..

I got fired off a set today! (January 29th) Well, not fired technically - but told to go home. The student shoot I was working was a complete joke. Everyone was working 10 hour days for 4 days straight on a 5 day shoot, our Director is an idiot who simply doesn't now how to direct sh*t, and all our ...

RE: *Need Help* Looking for short 5-7 page screenplays!

The plot HAS to be dialogue driven. The entire story of the film has be told through words spoken by the characters and we have to make it sound natural and realistic... we're not aloud to make a campy or comedy film out of the story. Which is weird, since film is visually driven. This is why I NEED...

Hi guys, I REALLY need some help finding some short *dialogue heavy/dialogue driven* screenplays! (About 5-7 pages long.) So if anyone knows where I can find some, and/or if you have something that you consider "Good" that you wouldn't mind having me work on for one of my school projects, ...

"Barry Lyndon" An Exercise in Style

Hi guys, A little over a month ago I posted a topic asking for advice in copying the style of Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon". Well, I just finished the short "in-class" project and it looks pretty freaking sweet for something shot in 2 hours. We had access to acting students fo...

Thanks for the feedback guys! Keep it up. In response to Kentertainment's comment about the sound effects: I just watched the film from beginning to end on Google Video and there does seem to be a slight 3-4 frame delay with the sound, but it doesn't really harpen the film (I could barley notice it ...

New 8-min short film "Frustration!" now online.

Hi guys, Just finished this short film that I wrote, directed, and produced about a week ago and just got it on the net. It's a slapstick comedy about a guy who is late for work, and so far it's been that best film my film class has been able to put out. Hope you all enjoy it. Link to Frustration!

Need help recreating the "Barry Lyndon" look.

Hi guys, I need all the help/advice I can get in recreating the "Barry Lyndon" look for one of my film classes. For the assignment, basically, we have 3 hours to set up and shot a short dialogue scene between two actors, but we have to pick a film with a certain "unique" look to ...
