Hey, great job on this. I showed this to my mom who is an elementary school teacher. Her class just finished reading The Giver, she was wondering if it was okay with you to use this in the classroom.

Just out of curiosity, what were the paintball guns for in that one shot? I thought they might be there to represent machine gun fire, is that right?

I enjoyed it, dialogue was good, and music was perfect. Kind of a funny coincidence though, that one song, "coin operated boy", there was group of girls who choreographed a dance to that at the local chapter of No Shame Theatre, they performed that like the night before I watched your vide...

RE: The return of Foxwood, and his ideas for this flick

I'm head of my school's film club. We've got editing software, human resources, and a Canon GL2. We're looking for some kind of film project at the moment, so let us know what we can do to help.

I don't know any real system off the top of my head but this seems like something that might work. Make up different movements, jabs, slashes et cetera and number each one, not too many though or it might get confusing. For each of your numbered attacks create some kind of defensive position that co...

RE: How to make squibs.

I know what a squib is, but does anyone here know where the name 'squib' came from? I may just be stupid but it seems like a made up word, is there any actual meaning to it, like an abbreviation or something? I'm just curious about it.

Okay, i'm not really looking for the real deal, as long as it looks like the real deal. If I can get modern repros for cheap then that's good enough. Thanks for the links.

I have, but most of them are pretty expensive, and they sell the uniforms in parts, I'd like to try to get everything in a set if I could. My grandpa served in Korea and I was going to ask about his old uniform, but I think he threw it all out after he got back.

I know it's a lot to ask for

I'm currently working on a school play entitled "My Father's War" written by my theatre arts teacher. A scene or two takes place in a flashback to a world war two era USO dance and a few scenes take place on the battlefield. Now I know it's a lot to ask for, but we're trying to get costume...

RE: The Blind Girl and The Thief

I think this one sounds good, it also reminds of those little stories you get in chain letters like the little boy who dies and then sends the note to his mom from heaven (don't act like you've never gotten that one before). I think your short will turn out good though.

I don't know how short you wanted it to be, but it seemed a little bit too small for me, almost like the length of a commercial. Good concept though, I liked the script and I think if you expanded a little bit more and slowed down the pace you'd really have something. And like when Brad rolls throug...

RE: Debris

Hmm, for camera protection there is an interesting article on Hackaday.com about making an underwater shell for video cameras, i'd imagine that if you used a stronger plastic for the underwater shell it could make a fairly effective blast shield. And I guess I misunderstood what you meant. Could you...

I'd get some cool debris stuff and wrap it around a large fire cracker. Then I'd video tape it.

I think emo is just extremely whiny, softcore punk. Real punk is like The Wednesday Night Heroes. Greenday used to be punk, but they've kinda gone emo. Not that they're bad or anything, Blv of Broken Dreams was good, but they play it on the radio so often that I get tired of it.

Okay. I'm sure that all of the stuff you've already suggested is probably easier, but if you want to do it the crappy, can't afford any cool software way, why not break your footage down into individual frames, and then copy each frame once and put them all back in order. This would change the numbe...

Are you asking for templates or for fully built Thompson models?

BTW, what are the Thompson models for? If they're for a war movie you'll probably want the M1 model, if its for a gangster flick I'd personally go with an M1928 (the ones with vertical foregrips that are compatible with drums).

I'm in the U.S. so you probably don't want to hand me the idea, because of the issues with you being present at filming of course, but i'm always up for a good story. XhuntedoverlordX@aol.com.

IT may have been for our own profit but what's done is done. We can't change that. All we can do is make movies and write books about it.
