I recently bought a hc3 and its great. My friend was going to buy the hv20, but due to lack of stock, he went ahead and bought a hc1, but hv20 and hc7 are both great cams.

RE: snowfall test- does this look like winter?

Yeah, thats quite impressive. Also the blue colour grading set the mood, along with the exposed sky. Nice

yhup.. thats what action films do .. watch hot fuzz.. you'll understand what i mean Hot Fuzz is a terrible excuse for an action film (good comedy, though). The point of good action is to keep the audience knowing what the hell is going on, or they'll lose interest. Just like a confusing story will ...

yeh but bear in mind, using a HD cam, the 35mm adapter has to be exceptional because with HD, you wil notice all the slight imperfections a lot more ie. Grain, diffusion as opposed to a 1 chip cam.

Nice. I am planning on buying a Letus35a and have researched these for the past few months. I built one of my own and it worked, but i will prefer buying one, the quality will be much better. The quality of the brevis is very nice and the bokeh is spot on. It also doesn't diffuse the image too much ...

Nice film. I think there was a little too much glow/diffusion and it was a little slow at the start, as someone has already said. I liked the warm tones and the credits seemed real simple and stylish. There were some nice shots thrown in there too.

I enjoyed that. It was nicely shot and cut. Good sound mix as well, i liked the grading and acting was very good, except for the mum on the phone, she didn't seem so terrified that there was a clown in her babies room... other than that good job

RE: New Trailer - Historical Drama

I admire the idea of the film. The story doesn't consist of the average, bang bang silly amature film with lots of guns. I think if you made it a little faster paced, perhaps cut out some parts, and i do cringe when i hear that song. It appears to be well directed and am intrigued to see the finishe...

kool effect, but make sure when you vibrate the camera, put that before the widescreen bar layer because you are shaking that.

RE: cutting a person in half

well what i would do would be to film the person stand still, then fall on the floor to the right (as if he just got cut in half) then film the same again but get him to fall to the left (and film a backplate) Then in after effects, mask out his bottom half of his body so you only the top of his wai...

Working in HD

Hey, i just bought a HC3E cam off ebay for £523 and am recieving it tomorrow. Yay. I also recently bought a lovely new 32" HD tv to view my vids, but i was wondering about capturing and editing etc in High Def. I heard that you lose a certain amount of quality whencapturing through firewire ...

RE: New Short Film - "Sanctuary"

very nice. I enjoyed it and the music was great. The look of the film was nice, quite cold and desaturated with some glow, but in memories/flashbacks, it had a nice warm tone. Good job and good acting. I can see a few faults with editing but overall it was good.

RE: New film won competition

Well i filmed my mate jump the stairs with the exposure increased to make the sky more or less white. I then just keyed that out to a time lapse sky, and then masked out some stuff like rails and some background stuff. I then added some artificial shine to make the shots appear seamless.

RE: New film won competition

Thanks for the reply. Yeh i do like that shot with stair jump/time lapse, and am glad how it came out. A shame the quality aint too great. And the stair set was jumped on a freebord, not a longboard, but i filmed all the moving shots on my longboard :) Im glad you enjoid it (see what i did there?)

New film won competition

hey y'all. Recently me and a few people have been very busy, making a new freebord film. For those who don't know what a freebord is, check www.freebord.com. Anyways, we entered this film into a contest called Best sumbitted video and the entries were judged and narrowed down to top ten. Then those ...

Nicely edited and directed for a gay sequence. Blood, not my taste, and yeah, the colour was a little bit wack, but i did like it, and the sounds were nice. I particularly enjoyed the opening with the depth of field
