RE: Idea of Revenge
I filmed the movie and I have used magical powers. By "realistic" I meant that whatever they do it had to be remotely believable. As in the movie situation the killer, no matter how weird he is could have happened. The killer doesn't fly around like superman (not believable), but he runs a...

Idea of Revenge
I have a script with 3 characters. Master, Wizard, and Magician. Master is an evil character who after some plot twists kills Magician with a knife. Wizard sees the scene of murder but is too late to save Magician. Wizard who also has a knife rushes up to the scene. He wants revenge. The question is...

Watch the movie Life is Beautiful. That movie has the perfect example of a very sad and startling ending, but it still lelaves viewers feeling ok and not depressed. yah-y-kes (yikes)... for me it's like the worst movie of all time. Is the movie good ? Err, I guess, for what it is. Does it have a po...

he's not Death, he's just dressed as one. He can act a bit like Death though. Thus I can pretty much have the character do whatever. Though he should be more human than magical. But I like the ideas of Death not coming in touch with the victim at all. here's a twist: show Death and then show the cou...

RE: Re: RE: Spectacularly killing someone
The movie itself will be very short, but the character will be known to the audience. I kinda wanted to keep it secret for surprize effect, but I guess there's no harm in describing it. Anticipation done right is stronger than surprize. The idea: the beginning (first part) of the movie is set up as ...

RE: Re: RE: Spectacularly killing someone
Thanks, there are a lot of great suggestions. I don't want to go for gross or uncomfortable, but something like ctbullet suggested is simple & clean. I think I'm going more for the sudden an unexpected effect. Like someone is running, running, running, looking back, running some more. There's an...

RE: Spectacularly killing someone
you're right, though I do intend to make it serious and quick. The emphasis wil not be on splatters or the like, but instead on the plot. By spectacular I mean something that will get a reaction like "Wow, I better not mess with him", instead of "oh, he just shot a guy ... yawn...&quo...

slaying scenes is not my area of expertise, so I am looking for some advice. I am looking to make a scene where someone is being chased, possibly jumped on and then slayed. What I'm looking for is: * something personal (i.e. weapon of choice is something like a knife rather than a gun, as gun is not...

Movies, mandane to spectacular
what separates a spectacular movie from mandane ? I've been thinking about this one a lot. i.e. if you have a great idea and you give it to 30 people, you'll get 30 different movies. One of them will be so so, and one of them will be a work of art reaching and touching you at the very core of your b...

I'm not that familiar with German ... and phonics actually to spell it out that way.
The voice itself doesn't have to be authoritative but should sound serious.

I'm looking for a German voice (or one with German accent) that says "Exklusives Interview". Male preferred. It should be authoritative as if you're about to have an interview with someone very important. .wav or any major format is fine. Can you help me out ? EDIT: thanks, not needed anym...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Filming your script
I took some shots yesterday... and they are pretty bad .. They were too dark and everything moves very slow. I thought I could do better. Friends ? what are those ? ha ha. One I know has excused himself completely from any aspect of production, and it's better that way. We would usually get at each ...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Filming your script
My script is curently 15 pages long, so I don't know .. 15-20 minutes ? I'm having a few issues here though .. * I don't have actors yet * My local video club has 9 other projects before they even think about mine. * I need camera operators I think I'm shooting a bit too high here. I want it really ...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Filming your script
Ya know .. I had an experience yesterday: I went to my local school's video club to see how they were doing the shooting of the skit they wrote. That was my first time. They put me on the camera, as I had "camera experience". I was actually surprized that the first time they'd put me in co...

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Filming your script
I get a feeling that you don't let the actors read the script, but give it to them scene by scene ~5 minutes prior to the shooting, so that they can act ? This doesn't sound right.

RE: Re: RE: Filming your script
well, they don't know the script yet, but I think I'll give it to them to read it over. I'll see what happens as I go along. If they want to just act, without not knowing the script, that's fine too, but they may want to know what they are getting into. My script is not about 15 pages, so it won't b...

Filming your script
I finished writing a script for a short movie and now I'm having some trouble with what to do next. At this point I know the script well enough and have ideas on how things should look like in the finished product. But others don't. So, I can probably get some actors or have an audition of some sort...

RE: Mockumentary idea
Just a comment: "Mail Order Wife" is a mockumentary, and even though I heard it was a mockumentary, it didn't really click in until about the middle of the movie. It looked so real that I started seriously wigging out, until my buddy whispered: relax, it's a mockumentary !

I want to do a wire stunt
I want to do a wire stunt. Just one. Question: where/how can I do it ? Some points: * I want to stay safe * I don't want to spend a fortune * I want it to look at least semi-professional * I don't want to learn all ins and outs of rigging and stunt work, unless I have to Thus, I've been looking for ...

RE: Budget wireless microphone
not a requirement. I had a problem of background noise when I filmed actors in a noisy hall somewhere. So I thought that if I put a wireless mic on them, I'll get two benefits: I will hear them much better without background noise and there won't be any wires sticking out from the actors. If there i...
