I think they probably mean that you can use either a fogger or a hazer to dump smoke on the paintball field. You can rent Roscoe foggers from theatre rental houses, and there's tons of theatre in Chicago. If you feel like owning a fogger, I've seen light duty ones in mall stores like Spencer gifts f...

Oog, don't bypass the resistors completely. LED's need to have some current limiting or they'll fry. With one led, you could try swapping out for a resistor with a smaller value, and see if it gets brighter or burns out. Then you could switch them all if you wanted to squeeze it for the most juice p...

Damn dude, I hope you're getting a CD burner to back up your work (or better yet, DVD burner). Don't trust your hard drive! It may not happen for many years, but eventually some hard drives crash, and it sucks to lose that much work. I'll get off my soapbox now. But take it from one who knows, backu...

You should be able to goose up the power of the spotlight, whether the individual elements are incandescent or led's. Having no idea what the inside of your spotlight looks like electrically, I don't have a clue how to tell you to do it. You got a friend that knows a bit about electronics? The bigge...

Yes, getting a dedicated IR light is a great investment. Home made ways do take some experimentation. If you are working with gel filters, you need to have the colors be the primary colors exactly - I probably didn't stress that enough. If you don't know a whole bunch about stage and film lighting, ...

Just in case you didn't know this and don't already have a night-vision camera... Almost all of our camcorders are capable of picking up infrared light. If you want to check it, just point a TV remote at your camera and look in the viewfinder as you press a button - you'll see the led flash. So the ...

Totally do it for real. This doesn't solve your flesh problem, but you might try filling up a water balloon (or two) with blood and heaving it into a piece of chicken wire fence about 5 feet from your subject. I must admit I haven't tried this exactly, but from extensive water balloon research, a-he...

I used to use an external SCSI drive with my laptop and I was never happy with its streaming and reliability. I switched to a Firewire and have been much, much happier. And it was way cheaper than the SCSI. I don't know if your Dell has a Firewire port, my Compaq didn't. A pcmcia Firewire card was a...

I was just reading an article about DVDx, and then went online and saw your post. So it's not my personal experience, but they do talk (a bit) about settings they used on DVDx in their tests. Though the article is mostly about DVD copying/burning, there's a section on VCD and SVCD creation and some ...

I can't remember who said this, may have been James Cameron, but I'm not sure. Anyway, it was a big Hollywood director or producer... He said that in order for people to think a sequel is as good as the original movie, it (the sequel) has to be twice as good as the original. Raised expectations and ...

I'm not saying this is a fantastic resource, but you might find some general info that will help you out - decent glossary, decent links.

Yeah, he dropped forward...it didn't even occur to me that you'd think he'd dropped backward. My oversight. It's supposed to look like he's diving over the drummer and the drum platform. We have other footage of him landing *splat* on his stomach in front of the drum platform. I'm just now (11 years...
