just to let you know as from september all sony mini dv camcorders are dropping firwire for USB2 as USB2 is now faster than firewire

practise first using marker pens( red is good )once you can do the scene without getting pen on each other then use the real knives or use martail arts practise rubber knives for all shots except close ups you save on alot of scars this way.

hi at fatpony films we use a lot of blank firing guns ( MP5,Glock,Uzi,PPK ect) and the one's you can buy legaly in the uk have solid barrels so they cannot be converted to fire real amunition the problem with this is the muzzle flash come out of the breech ( the bit where the spent round edjects) so...

i may be a little bias here as i work for sony but generaly the resoultion for all current D8 cameras is as good as the low to medium priced MiniDv ,but on all sony MiniDV camera the lens is a carl zeiss which is far better than any on current D8 cameras and you cannot buy a true widescreen D8 model...
