Plates that you can bust over heads
Howdy peeps. My latest project requires a slapstick fight in a resturant, so you guessed it, a lot of plates will get smashed. My question is; does anyone know how to make plates that break easily without harming actors (kind of like shugar glass but for plates)? I cant find any info on the net. Tha...

Hey no problem UK people :D Instead of farting around talking to the police (puppets) I went directly to the Home Office (government body) regarding filming with replicas, I recieved a letter saying that using replica guns for short films is perfectly legal as long as you don't use them to intimidat...

Have you used this method for smoother slow motion?
Howdy, as you know, your interlaced footage consists of fields (upper and lower). using many plugins you can deinterlace and have footage with either the upper fields or the lower ones. Now, if you were to take these two deinterlaced clips (upper and lower) and put them together so that each lower f...

What's your data rate?
Howdy, a quick questions here. I'm not sure if DV captured onto a computer has a fixed data rate or not (or if it varies on different computers).
Can everyone here write down the data rates of their DV avi's, please.
Thanks.

Ahh, the Krasnogorsk 3 (a classic and affordable 16mm) I will be purchasing one soon from the states. As for Telecine take a look at this product, it's quite expensive $1795 but if you count up the money you would pay over the years on getting film professionally telecine'd, then it dosen't seem so ...

So many people go on about getting the film look with video, which is something that I have mastered (after almost a thousand tests, that isn't a joke). Here is how it is; if you are serious enough to make your short films look like films, then you may as well just shoot on film! Trust me, it's not ...

Hey no problem guys, I live in the UK and have loads of replica/blank firing guns. We had a problem with a certain make of blank firers (Kimar) a few months back because they found out that they could fire projectiles (had open barrels), These were taken off the market. All ather blank firers are pe...

How many renders?
Howdy, Just wandering; I'm doing a project at the moment. I have edited most of it down into a bunch of three minute segments, however the sound is a bit low in places on one of the segments. Now I would love to put it back into premiere and alter the sound bits but this requires rendering it to an ...

Howdy, Do you guys know what data rate audio runs on DV. Some of my files say the audio is 44.000hz and some say 48.000hz. Which one is right/best for rendering your footage in?

After Effects Layer Problem
Howdy, I have just used a plugin called CineMotion to give good film movement (I recomend!). However when I use a mask to put letterbox bars onto my footage (for that extra look;)) it renders without the bars! I know this is a layer problem but I am new to AE, can anyone help me:D PS this problem al...

De-interlacing
Howdy, I have been doing some tests lately regarding seperating the video feilds to give a film like movement. I have noticed a slight drop in video quality when I de-interlace. I have tried to do it with Premiere and with After Effects, with After Effects I did the 'Lower Feild' thing to de-interla...
