Sorry to rain on your parade Unconscious unless you want to settle for out of sync audio, you have practically no option. If your filming on a crappy camera them obviously you don't have much of a showcase or important audience like a festival. So in that case I don't think I sacrifice my audio sync...

RE: Re: RE: Dub or Real Time?

Ohh, please don't dub over voices unless you absolutely have to. It takes tons of talent to be able to sync up audio to match moving mouths. Personally I can't stand the slightest bit of off-sync audio, it drives me nuts. But hey, if you hate background noise that much you can do it. I also don't ha...

RE: Re: Brawl/Bar fight

Well the fight should definately have bunches of beer bottles being smashed and thrown at people. Bar stools can be heaved as well. You could also have someone tackle another onto a table where people are and then have the table break. Pool sticks can be used. For it to be entertaining and realistic...

Technically there is no "correct" way. BUT there is a way that is easy to read and everyone understands. It is also the only way agents will accept it. It is also the way that pretty much every script in hollywood and other film markets is formatted/written. For me, the Scene Heading is th...

I'm not quite I understand the plot very well. Is the part where the son comes back a halluicination of some kind? Also, take a lot of the detailed description out along with any camera directions. This is not your job as a writer. Details are left up to the director to do. Even if you know you're g...

Yeah, 1980's look. The movie is about a director in the eighties. So, I need a 80's looking camera, without paying much at all.

Fake Eighties Film Camera

Well, I'm begining to undertake a large project, and I need to get a few suggestions for props. I need a film movie camera look-alike. It just needs to look real, it doesn't need anything fancy about it. I've been trying to figure something out, but I can't seem to get it close enough. That's all fo...

After Effect Render problem

Whenever I'm rendering my file in AE, which is just a simple 2 sec masking comp, it gets to about the 30th frame and locks up. The render doesn't just stop, the whole program freezes. I've tried re-rendering the original files, but this didn't solve the problem either. How do I fix this?

RE: Over the top movie idea

Have explosions going off all the time for no paticular reason. Also, always make your characters doing things the hardest way possible. Like shooting off the blue wire on a bomb instead of cutting it. They story sounds pretty over-the-top so far. Good luck.

RE: 15:10

There's no hook to that though. There's no suspence. There's no climax. There's no emotion. I understand the dream thing and how it could work, but I'm sorry Kellocx, it just didn't work out this time. Just try and work on some plots with a significant beggining, middle, and end. It took me about tw...

RE: 15:10

I'm not quite sure I get. From what I could tell, there wasn't much of a plot, not to mention a clear beginning, middle, and end. The direction looks fine, the acting was not that bad either, but the plot is very vague. Please explain.

Digital camcorders do not record onto memory sticks. Some use memory sticks with the built in camera. The camcorder records the image onto to the tape digitally. They usually have a larger CCD, so there is better color. Also, the image is much clearer. On brands, I usually lean towards Sony or Canon...

There are a few ways to do this. Go and buy a cheap table from a yard sale, a salvation army store, or anywhere you can get a cheap table. Saw where you want the breaks to be. Then, you could put the table back together and use balsa wood as a joint between the places where you cut it. You also migh...

"Here, take this acid and write down what you see." That's how Alice in Wonderland was written. See if you can get a hold of a 8th or 9th grade English book. Those have tons of short stories. I remember one about some guy placing a bet on wether he could stay in solitary confinement for se...

We use a MP3 recorder that works OK for now. We had some problems the first day with volume, but I think that was largley because of how we boomed it. Whatever you use, make sure it's digital so you won't have audio sync problems.

Maybe if you talk to the police and store owners, the might let you if you have proper supervision. But if anything that looks like a gun is banned, they might not help. Although, it wouldn't hurt to ask. Good luck.
