RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Any scripts available?

Just a lttle note, a good script is in the eye of the filmmaker/producer etc it's subjective. I have sold a few dozen short scripts most I hated but people came to me with an idea and paid me to flesh them out. It's not hard to write, though it's more fulfilling to write for yourself though or as a ...

There are some free MS Word plug ins but I recommend Final Draft 7, that being said time of day etc doesn't matter as much as the sluglines ( Int./Ext. etc), format really just depends on who you are working with I have seen people with budgets work off of scripts that weren't formatted to any stand...

Plan 9 from outer Space should be on the list of ones to watch, even with all the campiness of the film there is lots to learn from it.

RE: Re: RE: Re: Fundraising For a Film

Not really the western I co-created is looking at a 6 figure budget because my friend who is directing it, worked as a PA unpaid for the investor on a few other prjects. It's more about who you know and getting your ideas in the right hands. It's not easy by any means but still not as hard as people...

^^^ She knows her stuff in that dept as well as some others. Saw some pics of her rebuilt studio on another board, I got to say impressive given the hurricane damage Tracy and some others were telling about you going through Liza.

RE: Advice and suggestions for script

I would suggest narrwoing to one topic as 4 minutes is fairly short amount of time to cover the depth of more than one subject. If you were to stick to gangsters take a look at the movies suggested previously here.

Man the parts you guys talking about the stoners and the dumb chicks sounded like most of the film courses i took in college. We'd show up high or drunk edit our stuff, show assignments to the Professor etc. ( Actually it's similar to every indy project i have collabed on.)

Salo is just plain sick, although one does have to admire the adpatation into film of a Marquis De Sade book. (120 Days of Sodom for those that didn't know). I will say though I did enjoy the WW2 set up about the film, though alot of the film itself ran like a child porn snuff film. Just my opinion....

Manually white balance the thing, do not use the auto settings, same for the focus. Also be aware of your light sources, last year when i was shooting video for a rapper i was managing I noticed the lighting was off due to the way the bar was lit, and the way I white balanced the camera, actually tu...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Hostel 2

Hostel was ok. I don't think it did much good for the horror community though. Sure it has some nice F/X work, but the acting, story, and everything else seems to be catering for the brainwashed MTv teens out there. The Devil's Rejects was far superior and brought back the nice 70's exploitation fe...

^^^ UFP has it half right, work your a** off, never refuse a role or offer to collaborate. Actually finally getting a few checks after 4 years of doing this...

Re: How do you actually get into the film industry?

I don’t consider myself to be an expert at film making, so I’m not expecting to be a Spielberg or anything like that... If you cannot consider yourself to be great at filmmaking, you will never succeed. You will probably be stuck doing gopher work for small time stuff for the rest of ...
