Use cold, cold water to retard the setting time. It'll give you an extra minute or so. I usually add ice cubes to the water for a few minutes before I start and remove them before mixing the alginate. Also, you don't need to cover the entire head in alginate. As there's little detail on the back of ...

Do a psudo TV show... When good people go bad. Do it like it is a collection of video clips from around the world of people snapping.
You could have the dramatic voice over and the intro and closing sequence with some no-name actor (Like Troy McClure)

Sahara guns...

I know you guys are always on the lookout for cheap prop weaponry. The Propstore of London has a bunch of rubber guns from Sahara up for sale. They range in price from $69-$300 USD.
Look under new additions.
Just a heads up.

I agree with passit. Just remeber, for most of the aliens in Aliens, the suits weren't much more than rubber pieces glued to a lycra bodysuit. Under regular lights they were really ugly and really unconvincing.
Proper lighting and editing is key.

Make a two part plaster mould of your bottle, or rubber if you can afford it and mix up a batch of sugar glass. Fill the mould and let it set up for a few moments. Pour the excess sugar glass mixture out and let the mould cool. Open it and voila! Hollow breakable prop.

Really it's only expensive to make the moulds. Use autobody fiberglass kit's. $18 CAD at Wal-mart, and you should get at least two guns per Autobody kit. It's just time consuming.
BUT DO IT IN A VENTILATED AREA!
Also a bit of modeling experiance comes in handy.

Smooth-on makes a product called smash plastic. It's a lot safer than using real glass and doesn't slump like sugar glass.
