Good explosion, nice to see smoke as opposed to fire.

And Blade, stop bashing plug-ins. All professional SFX houses use them, how do you think they do the things they do in the time given to them?

I've used a ton of their footage and that watermark is only on the beginning of the clip and not on the clip itself.

AFAIK alpha mapping is used with CG objects. With real people you'll need a bluescreen.

Very good for a short flick. Nice cinematography, and I like the use of fast-motion (kind of reminded me of Requiem for a Dream) and black and white. Nice portrayel of someone sniffing too... not that I would know :P.

Try looking for the Ennio Morricone song "Trio" on altavista's audio search. That should have you're looking for. If you can't find it, don't hesitate to PM me and I'll be glad to send it your way (it's only about 852 kb).

There's always illegal downloading, which will in the short term cost you nothing
Don't even think of suggesting that. You do realize you could get this entire board shut down.

People do this all the time. Very rarely will a director or anyone else on the main production crew write the script.

With certain programs you can eliminate the "center" channel, which contains the dialogue.

8mm film is worse quality than DV!
MiniDV is 480 lines (or 525 depending on what country you're in) of resolution. 8mm is 1315. ;).

And as for transfering the film to computer..... all you need is a projector (which can be found for next to nothing nowadays) and the right lighting conditions. You can not point a video camera at the projection and hook your cam directly to a VCR.......BOOM.... you got video from film. Uh... yeah...

You could consider 8mm... though I don't know what those prices are.
The problem is really finding people who could process it.
